Coach Taneel

Hello from Coach Taneel

“A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dreams come true.” - Greg S. Reid

Thank you for entrusting me to work with your student. I am passionate about helping kids, teens, and young adults set goals, make improvements and be successful. I love meeting students where they are and becoming their partner to help them learn how to accomplish more. As a teacher and a coach, there’s no better joy than watching students grow and flourish. I can’t wait to witness all the ways your student will evolve as we work together.

My Story

I am celebrating 25 years of teaching in Hillsborough County this year and 20+ years of tutoring and coaching. I am a proud graduate of the University of South Florida in Tampa where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. In my time as a teacher, tutor and coach, I’ve had the privilege of working with students of varying abilities from elementary to college age. I’ve had extensive training and experience helping students with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and those who struggle with Executive Function.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, specifically my college-age daughter, Peyton and my Australian Shepard, Piper. I love traveling with my long-time group of girlfriends, camping, boating, relaxing at the beach, and seeing live music. I am a fourth generation Tampa native and while I’m not huge sports fan, I do enjoy supporting my hometown “Champa Bay” teams and the USF Bulls! I grew up fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving in the Gulf of Mexico and the Florida Keys and love all local seafood and traditional Tampa cuisine. I also enjoy cooking, party planning, and entertaining.

At school my students call me Ms. Ziegler, but I like my coaching students to call me Taneel. I can’t wait to meet and get to know your student.

Hello from Coach Megan

"The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice." - Brian Hebert

My passion is helping students move from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to feeling capable and confident! With strategic and practical focus, I help students develop the skills to think more clearly about their workload, prioritize effectively, and approach their academic responsibilities with intention and confidence. Recognizing the unique strengths and needs of each student allows me to develop personalized strategies. These learning aids continue to support students through high school, college, and beyond. I look forward to working together!

My Story

Hello! I’m Megan Civil, academic coach and mentor. I have spent more than twenty years working in education as a classroom teacher, academic advisor, and a university professor. From elementary all the way through college classrooms, broad experiences working with students in many stages of learning development provide the perspective to help each student understand how they learn best.

Outside of work, I spend my time with family and loved ones. We enjoy watching sports, traveling to new stadiums and arenas, family game night, WWE events, and a good Survivor marathon.  My husband is also an educator and coaches middle and high school sports.  With two children now in high school, our lives are centered around school events, practices, games and lots of driving! I love being involved in this stage of life with our kids and truly understand the academic, extra-curricular, and social pressures students face today.

I look forward to getting to know your student and helping them build the clarity, skills, and confidence to succeed!

Hello from Coach Sarah

"The rest is still unwritten." – Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield

I love becoming part of a person's support village. Working alongside families and other professionals is one of my favorite parts of coaching.

Every coaching relationship begins with questions and conversation. That's how I get to know each person. We talk about what's important to them, what's already working well, and where they'd like to grow. Somewhere along the way, we usually share a few laughs too.

I love helping students better understand themselves as they navigate school, work, and whatever comes next. One of the most rewarding moments is when everything suddenly clicks and you can almost see a new perspective begin to take shape.

My Story

Since beginning my career in education in 2009, I've intentionally sought opportunities to work with students from elementary school through adulthood in schools, coaching, and collaborative settings. Along the way, I've partnered with families and other professionals from many different backgrounds. Again and again, those experiences have deepened my appreciation for the many ways people learn, think, and experience the world.

One of my favorite parts of coaching is putting the pieces together. Every conversation offers another clue. Over time, a clearer picture begins to emerge, and together we build strategies that fit the individual. Seeing someone discover new confidence in themselves is something I continue to find incredibly meaningful.

Outside of coaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, relaxing at the beach, exploring somewhere new, listening to live music, and cheering on a soccer game or just about any sporting event. My dog, Pete, and cat, Zoey, are often part of the adventure. They both seem convinced they're part of the coaching team.

I look forward to getting to know you and helping you discover what works best for you.
