FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q. Why do we limit our age group from 6-60?

A. We understand that ADHD can occur and be diagnosed throughout the lifespan. However, in our practice we utilize the Qbtest as an objective piece to our comprehensive ADHD evaluation. The Qbtest has been FDA approved for ages 6-60 and does not have the ability to evaluate over 60 years of age. Therefore, we have limited our practice to this specific age range.

Q. Do I have to live in Florida?

A. Yes, our providers are only licensed in Florida, and you must reside in the state to be evaluated. Current practice laws also require this evaluation to be in person. Following evaluation, treatment visits can be performed telehealth and we follow the DEA’s regulations for frequency of follow up evaluations which is to be seen for follow-up within one month of starting treatment and at three month intervals for refilling medication.

Q. Does coming in for an evaluation guarantee me an ADHD diagnosis?

A. We do not guarantee that you will be found to have ADHD. We also cannot guarantee that your case is best suited to be managed in our practice model. Additionally, treatment recommendations are at the provider’s discretion and therefore we cannot guarantee a certain type of treatment.

Q. What can I expect during my evaluation?

A. Our comprehensive ADHD evaluation includes clinical interview and computer-based ADHD testing, Qbtest. We will review the results of the testing and clinical data obtained and recommend further laboratory studies as indicated. We also use evidenced based screening tools and will request these from teachers, spouses, and family members as needed. We then perform treatment planning where we present our comprehensive treatment plan. We also include a complementary session with our ADHD coach.

Q. Do you accept health insurance?

A. We do not accept health insurance to provide individualized care and spend the time necessary to provide care for each unique patient. This is determined by the patient and healthcare provider rather than being dictated by the insurance company.

Q. What can I expect from my monthly subscription?

A. Our month subscription includes medication and care management with our providers. This includes follow up appointments either in person or telehealth (once per month for the first month and no longer than three months as set forth by the DEA regulations), unlimited phone calls/direct email communication with your healthcare provider, secure text messaging with office staff and healthcare provider, annual ADHD computer testing if needed, forms, authorizations, letters, and collaborations with schools, psychologists, counselors, psychiatrists, and academic coaches.

Q. What treatment options do you offer?

A. Our comprehensive approach may include medication, supplements, diet/nutritional education, exercise recommendations, referrals for therapies or academic coaches, and other nonmedication ADHD treatments to include digital therapeutics if indicated for the patient.

Q. Can the psychiatric nurse practitioners send my prescriptions, including controlled substance prescriptions?

A. Yes. Our nurse practitioners can prescribe all medications indicated for ADHD and various psychiatric conditions.
